We did not start HCC to sell another coffee.
We started it to make Nepal impossible to ignore

For generations, our family has worked with food, farming, and trade. But coffee brought us back to something more personal: the soil, the people, and the overlooked potential of Nepal's hills.

From Nepal to the world

A Himalayan origin. A family legacy. A future being brewed.

Himalaya Coffee Company was created to bring Nepal’s rare, high-altitude specialty Arabica to the world with traceable microlots, careful farming partnerships, and coffee that carries the quiet richness of the mountains it comes from.

  • 1930s - The first seeds arrive in Nepal

The story of Nepali coffee began when Arabica seeds from Burma were planted in Gulmi. What started as a small experiment slowly became a high-altitude movement.

  • A family connected to the land

From our grandfather bringing coconut trees to Nepal to a wider legacy in food and agriculture, our family's history has always returned to one idea: growth begins in the soil.

  • 131+ Years - KL Dugar Group's foundation

Backed by the strength of a 131-year-old Nepali conglomerate, HCC combines traditional agricultural understanding with operational discipline, trading experience, and international ambition.

  • A mission that travels worldwide

Himalaya Coffee Company carries that legacy forward — helping Nepali beans become recognized, valued and supported in cups around the world.

Coming home with purpose

The daily cup that became a national mission.

Dhanvie returned to Nepal after studying at Northeastern University and working with global teams at McKinsey and Wayfair. Like many coffee lovers, she knew what she liked to drink. But when she began asking where her coffee came from, she found something impossible to ignore: Nepal was producing beautiful Arabica, but the world barely knew it.

HCC was born from that discovery. Not as a trend, not as a commodity play, but as a bridge between Nepal’s farmers and a global coffee culture ready for new origins, cleaner sourcing, and more meaningful cups.

  • Educating global buyers about Nepal as a specialty coffee origin.
  • Elevating small-batch Himalayan Arabica through traceability, grading, cupping, and story-led presentation.
  • Exporting coffee in a way that benefits farmers, buyers, and the long-term reputation of Nepali agriculture.
  • Educating global buyers about Nepal as a specialty coffee origin.

Why Nepal tastes different

Altitude, terraces, patience, and people.

The best coffee stories are not invented in marketing rooms. They are built slowly by geography, climate, farming practice, and careful human hands.

High-altitude growing

Grown between 3,000–6,000 feet, our coffee matures slowly in cool mountain conditions, developing natural sweetness, clarity, and a clean finish.

Naturally conscious farming

Traditional, eco-aware cultivation supports chemical-free, earth-respecting coffee that protects both the land and the integrity of the harvest.

Specialty-grade cup quality

With 80+ cup scores, Nepali Arabica earns its place in the specialty category, delivering smooth, aromatic, and complex profiles.

Terrace-grown character

Nepal's steep farms make cultivation harder, but the result is more distinctive: coffee shaped by altitude, soil, rainfall, and hand-led care.

Handpicked at peak ripeness

Every cherry is selected when it is ready, not when machines decide. This preserves sweetness, aroma, and the natural depth of the bean.

Rare limited harvests

Nepal does not produce coffee in massive volumes. That scarcity is what makes each microlot feel personal, precious, and worth remembering.
